Using TOOLBOX Checklists to avoid Fair Housing Violations

“To remain in compliance with Fair Housing Laws, you must treat everyone the same way.”

Every agent should have a very specific system in place which gives you the ability to set up each client in the same way.  Follow a checklist that outlines your generic screening procedures and client intake procedures, and have a system of record keeping to avoid fair housing issues.

The TOOLBOX has a checklist builder that ALL users can access. You can use:

This checklist gives you a process to delineate the type of transaction, who you are representing, and how you are getting paid. Check off the items that you want for your checklist and enter your email. The TOOLBOX will email your checklist to you.

You can choose items you want to include in the categories of Purchaser Representation, Seller Representation, Landlord Representation, Tenant Representation, Condo, Co-ops, or House/Townhouse. Check off the items that are important for your specific transaction. Enter your email and the TOOLBOX will email your version of the checklist to you.
